Saturday, 15 February at 2 pm, Galleri Image will host a public conversation between the visual artist Jeppe Lange and author Rasmus Daugbjerg. The conversation will be in Danish.

2023 marks the tenth edition of Photobook Week Aarhus, Denmark's first international photobook festival. The festival will take place from 1-5 November.

Soil Studies - New Danish Photography of Nature is a touring exhibition with five Danish artists Ditte Knus Tønnesen, Lotte Fløe Christensen, Veronika Geiger, Inuuteq Storch, Kirstine Autzen. The exhibition has been shown in Poland as part of the festival FFWRS and will continue to Pingyao and Beijing in China in 2023.

Galleri Image presents the publication The Color of Water by the American visual artist Sarah Schorr.

In addition to photographic pieces by Sarah Schorr the book contains text by Elizabeth Avedon and Anne Marie Pahuus in English and Danish. The book is released in parallel to Schorr’s solo exhibition of the same name in Galleri Image.

In connection with the exhibition No Name by Chinese artist Wang Ningde, Galleri Image has published a book by the same name. The publication contains a wide selection of photographic artworks from the series No Name, and two essays written by curator Lisa A. Orcutt and author Gitte Broeng about the artworks. Foreword is written by Beate Cegielska. Danish artist Lasse Krog Møller is the book's graphic designer.

In 2018 Photobook Week Aarhus presented the first ever PWA Dummy Award. The winning prize was having a dummy published as a real photobook.

The winning book of the first PWA Dummy Award was an essay on the concave city corner by Stijn Van der Linden, which was published in 2019 by Galleri Image in collaboration with Reflektor Platform and with support from Kvadrat. It is distributed by Idea Books, Amsterdam, in a media partnership with European Photography.

Godsbanen is now showing selected works from FRESH EYES - International Artists Rethink Aarhus.

In connection with the exhibition Staged Salvations, Galleri Image has published a ctalogue with works by the participating artists André Viking (DK), Nils Stelte (DE), og Rocco Venezia (IT). The catalogue contains an introductory text by the curator of the exhibition Lovro Japundžić.

The exhibition In Transit / In Between, which Galleri Image produced and presented in 2016, is now on tour in Europe under the name In Transit: From Home to Where?

How do artists work with photography and the body in a culture, where we all take photographs every day? In an interview book published by Galleri Image, four artists talk about contributing with tactical approaches to a culture saturated with images and controlled by large-scale political and commercial actors.  

Galleri Image is part of the project PARALLEL: Photo Based Platform. PARALLEL is a project consisting of an international network of various organisations and art institutions across Europe. It was first started by the Portuguese organisation Procur.arte.

In connection to the exhibition FRESH EYES - International Artists Rethink Aarhus, Galleri Image and Aarhus Centre for Literature have published a thoroughly illustrated book with contributions from 11 artists and 7 authors.

FRESH EYES - International Artists Rethink Aarhus was a collaboration between Galleri Image and Aarhus Centre for Literature. The project resulted in an amazing art book, photo and text installations in the urban spaces in the vicinity of Galleri Image, an exhibition in Galleri Image, readings, and guided walks.

In connection with the group exhibition This Island Earth, a stunning, richly illustrated catalogue has been produced. The catalogue contains works from the exhibition as well as texts by curator Katrín Elvarsdóttir and art historian Ann-Sofie Nielsen Gremaud, PhD. The catalogue is available through Galleri Image's web site.

In connection with Guston Sondin-Kung's exhibition Reconstruction of a Choreographic Script, a beautiful and inviting book was published that we here at Galleri Image are very excited about.

A publication on photographic art and the art of collecting not previously published in this form. We are very grateful that the renowned Spanish artist and curator Joan Fontcuberta has accepted our invitation to write a text on collections for our book. We are equally grateful that the Danish curator and researcher Louise Wolthers, PhD also agreed to write a text for the publication and Lasse Krog Møller himself contributes with images and a text on his exhibition.

Nordic Photography Network (NPN) is a network established in 2012 by five Nordic photography organisations: Northern Photographic Centre, Galleri Image, Forbundet Frie Fotografer, Fotogalleriet og Centrum for Fotografi. Today NPN consists of ten photography organisations. 

The objective of the network is to increase collaboration in the field of contemporary camera-based art within the Nordic countries. The network also aims at generating deeper, mutual knowledge of different artistic practices both within the Nordic countries and within a broader international context.
