In 2018, Galleri Image, Fotografisk Center, and Brandts collaborated on Fotobiennalen for the second time. The three institutions were present in a number of exhibitions, seminars, and workshops. Galleri Image contributed with the exhibition New Tactics - moving in a soft field which wass curated by Kirstine Autzen

From 2 November to 19 December Galleri Image exhibited Ex-Voto by Julie Born Schwartz; a film installation with three HD videos (30 min with sound) and photographic works.  

In September, Galleri Image attended the annual PARALLEL meeting in Zagreb.

Screen Shots was a series of 3 talks over two events with artists who work and experiment with contemporary apparatus of image making.

Galleri Image contributed to Fotobiennalen with the exhibition “New Tactics - moving in a soft field”. The exhibition was shown from August 29th to October 28th 2018. The exhibition explored how visual artists mix photography and other genres to create art in a time where both body and image are transformed through technology.

As part of the programme around the exhibition “New Tactics – moving in a soft field” in Galleri Image, we organized the seminar “Tactile Tactics”.

The 5th edition of Photobook Week Aarhus took place between the 4th and the 7th of October, with events hosted at the Aarhus School of Architecture, Galleri Image, ARoS, Verpan and Dokk1.

Beate Cegielska (director) and Mikkel N. Jørgensen (gallery assistant) from Galleri Image and chief curator of Photobook Week Aarhus, Moritz Neumüller went to Fotografiets Dager at Preus Museum in Horten, Norway from August 17th-19th.

The Museum of Photography in Seoul showed a new Korean / Nordic exhibition, it opened on June 9 under the title Nature as a Playground - In Korean and Nordic Contemporary Photography. Curated by Pirkko Siitari (Helsinki Art Museum), Beate Cegielska (Galleri Image), and Sunyoung Kim (The Museum of Photography, Seoul).

Søren Høg performed Blind Idioms on June 23 from 11.30 - 12 am! Sitting in silence at a table, he will use the 63 birchwood domino tiles to invoke sentences with biblical references.

Galleri Image hosted an artist talk with Kristina Steinbock, who exhibited Deconstruction of Already Existing Knowledge of Blindness. The exhibition focused on the representation and the general understanding of blindness.

In the exhibition Deconstruction of Already Existing Knowledge of Blindness, the Danish artist Kristina Steinbock investigates the conception of blindness through cinematic, tactile, photographic, auditive and performative works.

Galleri Image hosted a dinner for the visiting international artists and curators Zoe Zhang Bing from Shanghai, Katia Krupennikova from Amsterdam, and Laura Köönikkä from Helsinki

The exhibition include an original video as well as a series of both black and white photographs and color photographs, the latter being created with photographic emulsion. Lisa Strömbeck focuses on how people find comfort in animals and trees.
