The Chinese photographer, performance and video artist Liu Jin was invited to Aarhus in May/June of 2015 by Galleri Image in order to work on his artworks as part of a DIVA-residency, supported by the Danish Arts Foundation. In his Danish project, he has chosen as his starting point a piece of shared cultural heritage, which resonates with both Danes and the Chinese: Andersen's Fairytales. The famous fairytales are utilised in the project as media to address and examine artistically both global and personal issues. Several of the pieces Liu Jin created during his stay in Denmark will be shown in the exhibition "New Clothes for the Fairytales" in the Danish Cultural Center in Beijing. You can experience the exhibition from August 13th to September 18th 2016.

This means it will also be possible to view Liu Jin's Danish works in a Danish context - you will only have to wait until 2017.
