In the project: FRESH EYES - International Artists Rethink Aarhus, the city is experienced by photo artists and writers from around the world. The city is viewed with fresh eyes and rethought, visually and poetically through to 2017.

Danish Maja Ingerslev (b. 1972) represents an insider's reinterpretation of the city, as Ingerslev is the only visual artist participating in the project who both lives and works in Aarhus.
Ingerslev's work on the FRESH EYES project will extend a full year as she visually manipulates the seasonal transformation of the natural landscape in and around Aarhus. Her work is site-specific, located in nature, and approximating to the land art genre.

Delicate paper formations of snowflakes, flowers, roots, and feathers are inserted into landscapes whose rough surfaces and rugged environs are in stark contrast to the whiteness and fragile materiality of the paper. By placing the characteristic three dimenstional paper cuttings in the landscapes Ingerslev provides the viewer with a new perspective on nature as a poetic call to reflection and contemplation.
