Galleri Image and Fotografisk Center welcomes you to the event Young Danish Photography ´14, which presents a wide spectrum of young, Danish, camera based art.

As image makers and image consumers in a mediatized society we deal with photography on a daily basis. At the exhibition Young Danish Photography ´14 artists Ida Arentoft, Albert Elm, Julie Born Schwartz, and Asbjørn Skou reflect on the medium and its many manifestations in various different ways. The exhibition deals with the documentary, the personal, and the more conceptual and includes new works, which signify the four artists’ practices.

Young Danish Photography is an annually reoccurring exhibition, which has had the goal since it was founded in 1998 of solidifying the interest in, and the knowledge of, the works of young Danish photographers.  The four photographers in this year’s exhibition are all educated at different photographic schools or academies abroad. Because of the limited number of photographic educations in Denmark the exhibition has presented Danish photographers with international educational backgrounds right from the beginning.

This year Young Danish Photography ´14 is created in a collaboration between Galleri Image and Fotografisk Center and is also shown in Four Boxes Gallery in Skive and Phototek Esbjerg. In connection with the exhibition a catalogue is also being published. The exhibition at Fotografisk Center is supported by The Committee for Visual Arts in Copenhagen.

The exhibition is opened by photographer Charlotte Haslund-Christensen Friday 14th November from 4-7pm at Slottet, Carlsberg, and the artists will be present.
