Gallery Image, Private Launch on 3rd November 2006 between

Digital
technology seems to give us a lost dream back: the dream
that everything is possible. Hardware and software appear
to promise us unlimited communication, problem free realisation
of needs and absolute creativity. As well, a lot of digital
art appears to live in the neo-romantic dream, where art
is created by the inspired artist who alone understands
the secret codes and unending potentialities. In order to
counteract this tendency and to encourage collaboration
between different art forms, we have transferred film's
Dogme tradition to digital art. Digital art's - like all
other arts - freedom actually lies in self-imposed restrictions
and not in unlimited possibilities. Therefore, Installation
Ff6b at Gallery Image must consider the following restrictions:
The installation must be a laboratory, as such a process
rather than a finished exhibition. The visitor will be co-creator,
their presence and actions will have an influence on the
installation. You can only use real-time video or audio
data. You can only use pre-existing codes from other or
earlier works, obviously altered with a view to create Ff6b.
The total budget can not exceed DKR8000.
The installation must include a system breakdown every 3
minutes.
Our
Project Group is made up of Signe Klejs, Anne Dyhr and Falk
Heinrich. All three collaborators have widely differing
artistic backgrounds and positions in the project.
Signe
Klejs works in the hybrid field between design, art and
IT. The project stretches from web design over digital set
design to interactive installation art. What they have in
common is that they examine the interaction between people,
space and technology. MA in Interactive Media Design, Design
School Kolding, 2002.
